Really pathetic showing for "the best antivirus mankind has ever created".Ĭan I get away with using Malwarebytes 3.0 as my main protection, or what? I've always been impressed with it, but never really thought of it as a one stop shop. To confirm if this is the cause, please disable rootkit scanning and run a manual Threat Scan. Had to format and reinstall the OS, which I was already prepared for (don't believe the hype). Jumped through hoops to get it installed and then couldn't uninstall when it proved to be janky AF. Tried bitdefender last year, because affiliate advertisers suck if off as the best antivirus the world has ever known best benchmarks, best protection, oooh it's so f-ing good. After the online virus scan, Malwarebytes reports on any threats that were found and asks if you want to remove them. Click the Scan button and the virus detector quickly scans for viruses.

So that includes sites like AO3, Fanfiction.Net, even random peoples Wordpress blogs. Download and install Malwarebytes’ free virus scanner software. Apparently Chrome does this thing where it adds random websites into the 'other search engines' list if youve ever so much as done a search in it. Nice one! It's a total shit-show, and I'm starting to despise it. Check the 'Other Search Engines' section. They bought out TuneUp Utilities, reskinned it and removed features. False positives galore, bloatware, in app advertising (I already own their Ultimate product, and they're trying to sell me VPN through my antivirus!). Thinking of building a new system this year, and I'm pondering whether to ditch AVG for good. That 'attempt' obviously was Malwarebytes wanting to remove something that it considered harmful.

Now they claim Malwarebytes can replace your antivirus, and I wondered whether the more security-minded amongst you think that's true. I understand that possibility, but the popup message as Malwarebytes was finishing a manual scan was that TM had blocked an attempt to make a change that may harm the computer. It was never considered a replacement for, but an layer of protection alongside your antivirus.

Was tipped off to buy a lifetime license before they moved to subscription.

I'd been using AVG as long as I can remember, before I discovered Malwarebytes.
